This is a slight adapation from “Heuck’s famous Poultry Dressing” which is on the package of the stuffing bag. 🙂
1/2 pound stale gluten-free or paleo bread, soaked in water until soft, then squeezed dry
1 1/2 cup celery, diced
1/3 cup onion, chopped fine
1/3 cup carrot, diced
4 Tbsp parsley
2 Tbsp ghee, grass fed butter, or soy-free, dairy-free margarine (like Earth’s Balance)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp. sage
a dash of pepper
2 eggs, lightly beaten
Melt butter or margarine in pan. Add onion, celery, carrot, sage, salt and pepper. Saute until tender, but not brown. Add parsley, bread and eggs. Stir until combined.
Place empty stuffing bag into the cavity of the turkey. Ladle dressing into the bag. Close the bag by tying or folding. After turkey has reached 180 F internal temperature, gently pull bag out, using oven mitt or pot holder. Cut open bag and pout into serving bowl.
Dispose of the bag. DO NOT REUSE!
