Paleo Ketchup

This paleo ketchup is gluten-free, soy-free and refined sugar-free. It goes great with grass-fed burgers. 🙂

Story

Most super market ketchup has High Fructose Corn Syrup. And who knows what their “natural flavors” are really comprised of. But its easy to make your own paleo ketchup, plus it takes the guesswork (and the guilt) out of enjoying it!

Ingredients

6 oz. can of tomato paste (Pomi’s brand is BPA-free!)
1/2 Tablespoon local honey or maple syrup
1/4 cup white vinegar

1/4 teaspoon ground mustard

1/4 teaspoon onion powder (omit for low FODMAPs)
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/8 teaspoon allspice
approx. 1/2 cup water
squeeze of fresh lemon juice

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Gradually stir in the water until you reach desired consistency. For best flavor, make at least one day ahead.
